THE FORMULA

How the calculation works

Expected wins = inquiries × qualification rate × proposal rate × win rate. Modeled sales value = expected wins × average project value.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE

A calculation you can check.

With 100 inquiries, a 40% qualification rate, a 50% proposal rate, and a 30% win rate, the model gives 40 qualified opportunities, 20 proposals, and six wins. At $2,500 each, that is $15,000 in sales value.

When to use this calculator

Use this sales funnel calculator to connect activity to a revenue scenario. Use conversion rates for the same lead cohort and a comparable sales process. Each rate applies to the output of the previous stage. Compare scenarios by changing one assumption at a time: a qualification improvement and a larger project value can create different delivery demands even when their revenue effect looks similar.

Assumptions and limits

Expected-value wins may be fractional, but actual projects are not. The model does not predict which opportunity will close or when payment will arrive. Avoid mixing new inquiries this month with wins from an older cohort. Count project value once and account for cancellations, discounts, and capacity separately before budgeting against the result.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you use the result.

Why are the conversion rates multiplied?

A lead must pass every stage to become a win. Sequential stage probabilities multiply; adding the percentages would overstate the outcome.

Is the result profit?

No. It is modeled sales value before delivery costs, overhead, and collection timing.

Can I use this for ecommerce?

You can model a three-stage journey, but make sure each stage is defined consistently and use average order value instead of project value.
